Why the Tribest Slowstar Juicer Could be Your Last Juicer

Juicing has never been more popular.  It is one of the best ways to detoxify and get your health on track.  When you juice, you absorb all the vitamins and minerals that your body needs in what they call “liquid gold” form.

It is called liquid gold for good reason.  You know how produce and vegetables can help prevent a plethora of chronic diseases in your lifetime. It is also another way to manage your weight and complement exercise. You have probably been scolded by your parents one too many times in the past for skipping on your greens.

Nowadays, you can actually buy ready-to-drink, cold-pressed juices at your nearby specialty stores and health bars. But when you want to turn juicing into a lifestyle, it is more cost-effective to have your own juicer where you can pick any produce to turn into juice any day, any time you want.

A number of juicers are already available in the market.  There’s the centrifugal type of juicer which runs at high speeds and is deemed affordable by most buyers. The problem with this juicer however, is that you cannot allow the juice sit for long and often, you will get significantly less juice in the process.

And then there is the Tribest Slow Star Juicer,  2 in 1 juicer and mincer to be exact.  First and foremost, it is a vertical auger juicer which retains the purity of your juice with its slow speed, as believed by many juicing fanatics.  Running at 47 RPM, it may also very well be the slowest slow juicer out there.

Tribest Vertical Slowstar Specifications

If you’re already familiar with juicer technology, then you will find the above specs pretty impressive, don’t you think? There’s a lot more to uncover about the Tribest Slowstar juicer with the following information.

PROS:
  • Fresh juice at your disposal
  • A whole lot of juice in your glass
  • Beauty and function
  • Silent but powerful
  • Tough on produce
  • Cleaning can be seamless

CONS:
  • Size
  • Maintenance
  • Clogging

Pros

Fresh juice at your disposal

The slow auger rotation speed of 47 RPM of the Tribest Slowstar juicer reduces heat and oxidation in the juice.  This results in better tasting juice that is also longer-lasting. At least, that is the advantage which proponents of slow juicing like to highlight about this type of juicer.

Theoretically speaking, the juice from a slow juicer can last up to three days. A better storage suggestion is by filling a mason jar to the brim, and sealing it tight in the refrigerator.  This restricts air in the juice that will deter early spoilage.

Pros

A whole lot of juice in your glass

If other masticating juicers with a single auger produce decent outputs, then you will get even more juice from the Tribest Slowstar with its unique two-bladed auger. It yields 10 percent more than its known competitor which is the Omega VRT400. The juicing process results in a very dry pulp being ejected from the pulp spout.  Using the pusher will also make your juice less pulpy and frothy.

This juicing machine is great with leafy vegetables such as kale, wheatgrass, and parsley.  These kinds are typically difficult to juice given their low water content.  Fortunately, it does not seem a problem for the Tribest Slowstar juicer.  You can get your liquid green nutrients without much hassle.

Pros

Beauty and function

The Tribest Slowstar’s sleek and sophisticated design merged with its versatile capabilities are very impressive.  This piece easily stands out among other juicers in the market with its stylish black and red color combination.  The tall but compact size enables it to fit kitchens of any size, even if you have a small one.  Placing it on your countertop alongside your other beautiful stainless steel appliances, will surely elicit a stream of compliments from your guests. It will blow their minds more to see it in action.

Pros

Silent but powerful

The low 47 RPM guarantees you a quiet operation so you can concentrate on your juicing and not be annoyed by any noise.   The Tribest Slowstar may be a silent and compact machine but it packs a lot of punch.  It has triple reduction gears that result in an amount of torque equivalent to 9 horsepower.  In reality, you can already power up a motor boat with that amount.  For the juicer, this means less clogging and more juicing in less time than you are used to.  It will make you realize that this juicer is of excellent quality.

Pros

Tough on produce

The hardest fruits and vegetables can also be a pain for other slow juicers to deal with.  But the Tribest Slowstar seems to juice these hard ingredients without issue, for as long as you as you don’t feed them too quickly in the chute.  If you were afraid to use “complicated produce”such as carrots, celery, ginger before, now you can with this slow juicer.

Pros

Other special features

One of the bonus items this juicer offers is the spout cap.  This avoids spills and spatters that are common with other juicers. With the spout cap on, you will also be able to mix different juices inside the juicer. You save time in the process, especially when you are dealing will multiple produce.  The strainer also allows you to de-pulp your juice product for a smoother texture.

The plastic components are guaranteed BPA-free. You no longer have to be concerned about adulterating your freshly squeezed juice with harmful plastic chemicals. Another thing about buying the Tribest Slowstar is that it boasts of a  worry-free warranty lasting for 10 years. So, this juicer may be pricier than you like but the peace of mind you will get, knowing it is backed by a 10-year warranty, is priceless.

Pros

More than just a juicer

This juicer could not be any more versatile with its bonus mincing function which is just as efficient as its juicing capabilities. With the homogenizing/ mincing attachment, you can make your own puree, butter, organic sauce, sorbet, baby food, etc., the raw diet possibilities are almost endless. You will enjoy authentic sugar-free almond butter, pure liver pate, healthy ice cream, among others.  As such, you might not ever need a separate mincing contraption. And this also means big savings for a DIY homemaker like you.

Pros

Cleaning can be seamless

One of its auxiliary parts is the cleaning brush which is the perfect tool in scrubbing away any gunk or build up on the screen and other internal components.  Its cleaning bristles can reach the nooks and crannies of the juicer which would otherwise be difficult to handle.

You can simply soak your other disassembled parts in a water-filled sink or place them under running water and you’ll get the job done in a few minutes.  It’s also good to note that the upper parts of the juice are quick to detach.

You’ve read all the good stuff the Tribest Slowstar is capable of.  For the sake of argument however, I’ll give you some thoughts about what you might not like about this juicer, after which, you will be equipped with enough information to decide if the Tribest Slowstar is for you.

Cons

Size

The measurements of the feeding chute at 2.5 inches x 1.5 inches say that it is fairly small.  This means you will have to cut your produce in smaller chunks beforehand unlike tossing an entire fruit in a centrifugal juicer.  As much as you’re just used to sliding a whole apple inside the chute, you will need to chop it up for this juicer. This cutting process can take some time, and not ideal if you have limited hours in your day.

Cons

Maintenance

While some may find cleaning this juicer relatively easy, others might think that it can get difficult especially if you want to do it thoroughly. The innermost part under the double-bladed auger can be hard to reach, and it is where it gets really dirty with pulp remnants. It will then require you to disassemble the parts just to remove any stuck material.

If you’re the type that cleans appliances via the dishwasher, then you might not like cleaning this juicer as well, because you can only do so by hand.  Some may find this painstaking and tedious.

Cons

Operation

This refers to using the pusher on produce that you want to have smooth and pulp-less texture.  You might need to pound with it from time to time.  Clogging which is not an unusual problem among slow juicers, can happen from time to time.  It gets tough with thick and fibrous fruits and vegetables.  This can also cause to temporarily stall your juicing process.

The Good and The Bad According to Other Reviewers

Online comments reveal that the 47 RPM is a great feature especially if you’re meticulous with your raw produce.  And they like the fact that more juice is extracted which results to less product wastage.

The silent motor is also one of the things users love about this juicer.  It enables them to use it early morning or late evening without disturbing their sleeping neighbors.

Others finds the vertically compact size ideal for limited kitchen space whether it’s displayed or stashed in their cabinets. The ease of assembling the parts, which can be daunting especially for a first-time juicer, has been noted. Also, the efficacy of juicing leafy greens is very much appreciated as this is normally a challenge even for the more expensive slow juicers.

Then you have the homogenizing/ mincing attachment which provides a lot of versatility.  Users find that they can also make purees out of tomatoes, carrots, etc. aside from juicing it. It helps with variety in food presentation, especially if you’re feeding “vegetable-averse” children.

Users of this product find cleaning a simple chore as it only requires water and some brushing on several parts, which has been mentioned in this article earlier.  This may very well be a matter of preference.

Fans are delighted by its elegant look and durable construction.  To them, the high price tag is justifiable.  And the 10-year, iron-clad warranty is enough to relieve you of any worries of your juicer breaking down after only a few months of usage.

In fact, there were manufacturing problems during the first batch of release of this juicer.  Those affected have reported that Tribest replaced the defective parts for free.  They appreciated the outstanding customer service extended to them by the company.

Meanwhile, the negative comments from online reviews are considerably minor compared to issues raised about other slow juicers.  The cutting preparation is one. As pointed out, it can be time-consuming for people on the go.

Another thing users find an issue with is the fact that the Tribest Slowstar is not dishwasher-safe.  Also, the scrubbing necessary on some of its parts is a bit cumbersome.

Lastly, they think that the double-bladed auger is prone to build-up which can be tough to remove. It all goes back to the cleaning issue which scares off some.  Difficult as it may, cleaning, especially the auger, screens and filter, is an important maintenance procedure to keep your slow juicer in tiptop shape.

After everything that has been mentioned, it will lead you to decide on these questions:

  • Should I buy it?
  • Where will I buy it?

Now, should you really buy the Tribest Slowstar 2-in-1 juicer?  Weighing all the details while noting other reviewers’ comments, I think you should get one for your home.  The 2-in-1 feature is attractive by itself.  The cons are noticeably less and the many upsides speak for themselves.

It is a quality product in my humble opinion.  But be prepared to invest a good sum of money.  It’s all worth it in the end if you come to think of it. And not to forget, the wealth of health that comes with the juicing habit can be life-changing.

You can buy the Tribest Slowstar 2-in-1 Juicer at Amazon. Best if you are a Prime member because you get to enjoy 2-day shipping and an extended warranty.  Happy shopping!
